Adding my commas...
The songs.
In my live comedy show, I talk a lot about adding commas.

By that, I mean this: don’t live in one lane. Create. Stretch. Try things. Add to who you are.

We’ve all heard the phrase, “A jack of all trades is a master of none.” I was 51 years old when I finally heard the whole quote: “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” The exact opposite of what we were taught.

So I’ve made it my mission to keep adding commas to my life. Comedian, songwriter, writer, actor, husband, dad, stepdad… Because the more commas you add to your obituary, the more life you actually lived.

Comedy is how I tell the funny stories on stage. Songs are how I tell the stories someone else might sing.

These are original songs I’ve written over the years — some funny, some serious — but all of them come from the same place:
Real life.

And be sure to check out “Jack of All Trades” below.

02
Man, Ain't She Somethin'
Love, admiration, and the kind of woman who doesn’t need fixing.
03
Commas
About a life made up of chapters instead of periods.
04
God in a Bar
Finding faith in the places you never expected to look.
05
Happily - Even After
What real love looks like once the fairy tale wears off.
06
Hell, I Won
The ultimate girl breakup song in football terms a man can understand.
07

What you say when you finally understand the man who raised you.
08
Ballad of the Opening Act
For anyone who paid their dues before anyone was watching.
Some stories are better sung than told.

The songs on this page are songwriting demos and works in progress. “God in a Bar” is a fully produced recording; the others are demo recordings created to showcase the songs themselves.
